Messaging Settings - Providers, Sending Rules, and Notifications
Configure SMS providers, quiet hours, compose defaults, personalization, and delivery notifications for your organization.
Messaging settings control defaults, providers, personalization, sending rules, and notifications. Open them from Messaging → Settings.
1. General
Configure compose defaults for your organization:
- Default channel — SMS or Email when starting a new campaign
- SMS provider — Default (Tracksales wallet), Africa's Talking, or SMS Leopard
- Email defaults — default subject prefix and signature for email campaigns
The Default SMS provider uses your Tracksales wallet. Other providers require credentials in Settings → Integrations.
2. Personalization
Enable merge fields and choose which customer or document fields can be inserted into templates and campaigns. This lets messages include names, amounts, due dates, and other dynamic values.
3. Preview & test sends
Use the preview section to merge sample data into a template and send a test SMS or email to verify formatting before running a live campaign.
4. Sending rules (quiet hours)
Set the window when SMS campaigns may be sent. Sends outside allowed hours are blocked based on your organization timezone (configured in organization settings).
- Define a start and end time for permitted sends
- Applies to manual and automated SMS campaigns
- Scheduled sends that fall outside the window may fail or be blocked
5. Notifications
Choose who receives email alerts for messaging events—such as low SMS balance, large sends, or delivery failures. Add one or more notification email addresses for your team.
