Messaging Automation - Triggered SMS and Email Flows
Build automations that send messages when business events occur, such as new invoices, payments, or custom triggers.
Automations send SMS or email messages automatically when something happens in your business—such as an invoice being created or a payment received. Open them from Messaging → Automation.
1. Automation list
The automations page shows all flows for your organization. Each automation has a name, trigger, channel, and active/inactive status. Use search and filters to find flows quickly.
2. Creating an automation
Click New automation to open the flow editor. You typically configure:
- Trigger — the event that starts the flow (e.g. invoice created, payment received)
- Conditions — optional filters so the message only sends when criteria match
- Message — SMS or email content, often from a template
- Delay — wait before sending, if needed
Save and activate the automation when you are ready for it to run on live events.
3. Managing automations
- Edit — change triggers, conditions, or message content
- Duplicate — copy an existing flow as a starting point
- Deactivate — pause an automation without deleting it
- Delete — remove automations you no longer use
4. Credits and sending rules
Automated SMS messages follow the same billing and quiet-hour rules as manual sends. Ensure your SMS wallet has sufficient balance and that sending rules allow messages at the times your automations run.
