M-Pesa Integration - Accepting Mobile Payments
Guide to setting up and using M-Pesa payment gateway in Tracksales to accept mobile money payments from customers.
Tracksales integrates with M-Pesa to allow you to accept mobile money payments directly from your customers. This guide explains how to set up and use M-Pesa payments.
1. Setting Up M-Pesa Integration
To enable M-Pesa payments:
- Go to Settings → Payment Methods
- Click "Configure M-Pesa"
- Enter your M-Pesa business details:
- Paybill number or Till number
- Business name
- Account number (if using Paybill)
- Complete the integration setup
- Test the connection
2. Accepting M-Pesa Payments
When processing a sale:
- Complete the sale in Point of Sale
- Select "M-Pesa" as payment method
- Enter the M-Pesa transaction code (MPESA code)
- System verifies the payment
- Complete the transaction
3. M-Pesa Payment Links
For invoice payments:
- When sending invoices, include M-Pesa payment instructions
- Customers can pay via M-Pesa using your Paybill/Till number
- Record the payment when you receive the M-Pesa notification
- Link payment to the invoice
4. Verifying Payments
Always verify M-Pesa payments:
- Check the M-Pesa transaction code
- Verify the amount matches
- Confirm the sender's phone number
- Match payment to the correct invoice or sale
5. M-Pesa Payment Reports
Track M-Pesa transactions:
- View all M-Pesa payments in payment reports
- Filter by date range
- Export M-Pesa transaction history
- Reconcile with your M-Pesa statements

Keep a record of all M-Pesa transaction codes. This helps with reconciliation and resolving any payment disputes. The system stores these automatically when you enter them.
